How our course process works

From your very first inquiry to the moment you receive your certificate, every step of our course journey is designed to be transparent, supportive, and results-driven.

Your learning journey, step by step

We have refined our process over years of delivering transformative course programmes. Here is exactly what to expect when you join us.

1

Discovery consultation

Everything begins with a free, no-obligation conversation. During this thirty-minute call or in-person meeting, one of our course advisors will listen carefully to your goals, assess your current skill level, and recommend the programme that best fits your ambitions. We take time to understand your schedule, preferred learning style, and any accessibility requirements so that we can tailor the experience from day one. There is absolutely no pressure to commit — this step is all about exploring possibilities together.

2

Personalised learning plan

Once you decide to move forward, your dedicated learning coordinator drafts a personalised plan. This document outlines the modules you will cover, the timeline for completion, key milestones, and the support resources available to you. We also identify any prerequisite knowledge and, if needed, provide bridging materials so you feel confident from the very first session. Your plan is a living document — it evolves as you progress, ensuring it always reflects where you are and where you are headed.

3

Enrolment and onboarding

Enrolment is straightforward. You complete a brief registration form, select your preferred start date, and arrange payment — we offer flexible options including monthly instalments. Within forty-eight hours you receive your welcome pack, login credentials for our online learning platform, and an invitation to our private learner community. An onboarding webinar walks you through the platform, introduces your facilitators, and answers any last-minute questions before the course begins.

4

Active learning phase

This is where the real transformation happens. Depending on your course, the active phase lasts between six and twelve weeks. Each week includes a blend of live workshops (available in-person at our Limerick centre or online), self-paced digital lessons, peer discussion forums, and practical assignments. Our facilitators provide detailed written feedback on every submission and are available for drop-in office hours twice a week. We deliberately keep cohort sizes small — typically twelve to sixteen participants — so that everyone receives individual attention.

5

Assessment and certification

Near the end of the programme, you complete a capstone project that synthesises everything you have learned. This might be a strategic plan, a portfolio, a live presentation, or a reflective case study, depending on the course. Your facilitator and an independent assessor review your work and provide constructive feedback. Upon successful completion, you receive a verified digital certificate and a detailed competency report that you can share with employers, clients, or professional bodies.

6

Ongoing support and alumni network

Graduation is not the end — it is the beginning of a lifelong relationship with Determination Course. All graduates gain permanent access to our alumni network, quarterly masterclasses, and a resource library that is continuously updated. If you want to deepen your expertise, alumni receive a twenty per cent discount on any subsequent course. We also offer career coaching sessions and can connect you with our network of hiring partners across Ireland and Europe.

Built around you, not around us

Many education providers design their processes for operational convenience. We took the opposite approach. Every touchpoint in our course journey was shaped by learner feedback gathered over hundreds of post-programme surveys and one-to-one interviews.

The result is a process that adapts to your pace, respects your existing commitments, and removes unnecessary friction. Whether you are a busy professional squeezing study into evenings, a career changer making a bold leap, or a team leader booking places for your entire department, our process flexes to meet you where you are.

We also believe in radical transparency. You will never encounter hidden fees, surprise deadlines, or vague assessment criteria. Everything is communicated clearly and early, so you can focus on what matters most — learning.

Frequently asked questions about our course process

Still have questions? Here are the answers to the ones we hear most often.

Most of our programmes run between six and twelve weeks, with an average commitment of five to seven hours per week. Some intensive formats can be completed in as little as four weeks for learners who have more time available. Your personalised learning plan will include exact dates and time expectations before you commit.

Absolutely. Every live session is available both in-person at our Limerick centre and via our virtual classroom platform. Online participants have full access to the same materials, facilitator support, and peer interactions as those attending on-site. We record all sessions so you can revisit them at your convenience.

Life happens, and we understand that. You may defer your enrolment to a future cohort at no additional cost, provided you notify us at least seven days before the next module begins. Your progress is saved, and you pick up exactly where you left off. We allow up to two deferrals per enrolment.

Our personal growth and leadership courses have no formal prerequisites — just a willingness to learn and engage. The professional skills course recommends basic computer literacy. During your discovery consultation, we will assess your readiness and provide any bridging resources you might need.

Assessment is continuous and formative. You receive feedback on weekly assignments, participate in peer reviews, and complete a capstone project at the end. There are no high-stakes written exams. We believe that demonstrating competence through practical application is far more meaningful and less stressful than traditional testing.
